Van introductiedag, Kronenburgh das, Pakkendag, bedrijfsbezoeken, gastsprekers, netwerkborrels, studiereis, afscheidsdiner tot de diploma-uitreiking.
From the introduction day, Kronenburgh tie, suit fitting day, company visits, guest speakers, networking drinks, study trip, and farewell dinner to the graduation ceremony.
Introductiedag / Inductionday
Om snel elkaar te leren kennen is er voor de voltijdstudenten aan het begin van het collegejaar de Introductiedag. We starten deze dag met een eerste kennismaking van de nieuwe studenten in het collegegebouw en het doornemen van de studiewijzer. Daarna vertrekken we richting strand voor activiteiten zoals powerkiten, beachvolleybal en golfsurfen. Altijd weer mooi om te zien hoe snel de band is gesmeden voor het komende collegejaar.
We start the new college year with an initial introduction for the fulltime students in the education building and a review of the study guide. After that, we head to the beach for powerkiting, beach volleybal and golf surfing. It is always wonderful to see how quickly bonds are forged for the upcoming academic year.
Kronenburgh Polo, das, pakkendag en ‘borrel’ / Kronenburgh Polo, tie, suit-day and drinks
Tijdens de introductiedag ontvang je de Kronenburgh polo. Mooi te laten zien dat je een Kronenburger bent.
In de eerste college periode ontvang je een Kronenburgh das. Ook al draagt niet iedereen meer altijd een das bij een pak, toch geeft de Kronenburgh das net even dat stukje extra, bijvoorbeeld tijdens bedrijfsbezoeken en de diplomauitreiking.
Elke donderdag is “Pakkendag”. Alle studenten dragen dan een pak (dames een mantelpak of jurkje). Zo wennen we aan hoe het is om zakelijk representatief op het werk te verschijnen.
Aan het einde van de pakkendag samen nog wat (alcohol vrij) drinken op het Plein is een mooie traditie.
During the induction day, you will receive a Kronenburgh polo shirt. It’s a great item to wear often to show that you are a Kronenburger.
During the first term, you will also receive a Kronenburgh tie. Even though not everyone wears a tie with a suit these days, the Kronenburgh tie adds that extra touch of distinction during the business visits and awarding ceremony.
Every Thursday is “Suit Day.” All students wear a suit (women wear a suit or a dress). This helps us get used to presenting a professional image in the workplace. After classes end for the day, students often head to “het Plein” for a drink (non-alcoholic).
Bedrijfsbezoek en gastsprekers / Company visit and guest speakers
Studenten gaan verschillende keren tijdens de opleiding op bedrijfsbezoek. Ook Gastsprekers uit het bedrijfsleven die open en eerlijk ervaringen met de studenten delen zijn zeer waardevol. Dat wat je tijdens de colleges leert, wordt dan op eens veel concreter. Het is dankzij de bijdrage van deze bedrijven en gastsprekers dat wij studenten kunnen opleiden die zich positief onderscheiden van de middenmoot.
Thanks to company visits and guest speakers the concepts learned during lectures suddenly become much more tangible. It is thanks to the contributions of these companies and guest speakers that we are able to train students who truly stand out from the average.
Netwerkbijeenkomsten / Networking events
Tijdens de opleiding bezoekt elke student minimaal 1 netwerkborrel. Ook weer een moment om het business suit te dragen. Zeer leerzaam maar ook een moment om even over een drempel te stappen: gewoon gaan staan praten met mensen die je niet kent. Wij bedanken o.a. de BBR en Business Haaglanden voor het openstellen van de netwerkborrels voor onze studenten.
During the course, every student attends at least one networking event. It is a highly educational experience, but also a chance to step out of one’s comfort zone: simply striking up a conversation with people you don’t know. We would like to thank organizations such as the BBR and Business Haaglanden for opening their networking events to our students.
Sint en Kerst / Sinterklaas and Christmas
Op de een of andere manier weet Sint jaarlijks Kronenburgh te vinden en bespreekt hij de laatste roddels en is er warme chocomel met slagroom. Met de Kerst is er een overdenking en toasten we op elkaar met (alcohol vrije) champagne en weten studenten de Kerstmarkt aan de Lange Voorhout te vinden.
Somehow, Sinterklaas manages to find his way to Kronenburgh every year to discuss the latest gossip over hot chocolate with whipped cream. At Christmas, there is a moment of reflection and a toast with (alcohol-free) champagne, and students make their way to the Christmas market at the Lange Voorhout.
Studiereis / Study trip
Het thema voor de jaarlijkse studiereis voor de eerstejaarsstudenten is “Teambuilding en Ondernemen”. We rijden met de trein naar Brussel of Antwerpen, bezoeken bedrijven en organisaties, verkennen de stad overdag en ‘s-avonds.
The theme for the annual study trip for first-year students is “Teambuilding and Entrepreneurship.” We travel by train to Brussels or Antwerp, visit companies and organizations, and explore the city during the day and in the evening.
Business lunch
De tweedejaars sluiten het collegejaar af met een business lunch bij het chique Des Indes aan de Lange Voorhout. Studenten oefenen in de tafelmanieren en de omgang met internationale zakenrelaties. Elke student doet een korte speech waarbij wordt teruggekeken op de opleiding bij Kronenburgh.
Second-year students conclude the last academic year with a business lunch at the chique Hotel Des Indes on Lange Voorhout. Students practice table manners and the etiquette of interacting with international business contacts. Each student delivers a short speech reflecting on their time at Kronenburgh.
Diploma-uitreiking / Diploma awarding ceremony
De diploma-uitreiking is de kroon op de studie bij Kronenburgh. De hele familie is meegekomen. Staande ovatie wanneer de kandidaten binnenkomen met hun square hats. Elke student wordt toegesproken. Belangrijk fotomoment tijdens het zetten van de handtekening op het diploma. Tot slot ’the square hat throw’ voor het collegegebouw. Welverdiende afsluiting van de opleiding: om trots op te zijn.
The graduation ceremony is the crowning achievement of the studies at Kronenburgh. The whole family has come along. There is a standing ovation as the candidates enter wearing their square hats. Each student is personally addressed. Signing the diploma provides a key photo opportunity. Finally, there is the square hat throw in front of the college building—a well-deserved conclusion to the education programme; Something to be truly proud of.
