Bachelors' International Business Management

At other universities this programme could be called ‘Business Administration’. In The Netherlands ‘Bedrijfskunde’ is the common name for this programme.
It is a three-year bachelor’s programme spanning four days a week:
- The first year is considered a propaedeutic year.

Bachelors' Business and Real Estate (Makelaar) (in English and Dutch)
- Do you envision a future career in the (international) business world? Are you also interested to specialize in real estate or to become a real estate manager (makelaar)? Then this programme ‘Business and Realestate’ is exactly what you are looking for.
Within a company’s management team members often have specific areas of expertise. By choosing the ‘Real Estate’ specialization, you become the ideal management team member to oversee the real estate portfolio and act as a strategic partner to specialized facilities staff or external professionals such as real estate agents, appraisers, and property managers. But you can also start your own real estate company.
Broad knowledge of real estate is valuable for future entrepreneurs and serves as an excellent general asset.
The Dutch K-RMT is the premier training course in the Netherlands for becoming a real estate agent; the acronym stands for ‘Kandidaat-Register Makelaar Taxateur’ (Candidate Registered Real Estate Agent and Appraiser). In the first year you participate the assistant-makalaar programme. In the second your the kandidaat makelaar. (Once you have gained sufficient practical experience, you can take the follow up exam to be officially listed in the real estate agent register.)

Propaedeutic International Business
A propaedeutic (Propedeuse) is the first year of a university of applied sciences or research university bachelor’s program. The propaedeutic serves as proof that you have earned all credits for your first year of study.
At the end of the first year you can start working or switch to a different field of study. You will then receive an overview of the modules and credits you have earned from Pearson and from Kronenburgh.
You can also continue your studies at Kronenburgh. Upon successful completion of the second year, you will receive the HND.

Associate International Business Management HND Associate International Entrepreneur (Ondernemer) HND Associate Business and Real Estate (Vastgoedmakelaar) HND Pearson BTEC level 5 Higher National Diploma HND 2-year, full-time
With an Associate degree (Ad), you obtain a legally recognized higher professional education qualification—at NLQF level 5—in just two years. Benefits and value:
- Recognized qualification: You can immediately apply for positions requiring an higher education level qualification.
- Fast start: The program takes two years,
- Practice-oriented: You learn a great deal through practical assignments, and the curriculum aligns closely with the needs of the professional field.
- Progression opportunities: You can often transfer to a full HBO bachelor’s program, usually receiving exemptions for prior learning. But you can also opt for the Top-up at a university abroad.
Top-up
The next step in the bachelors’ programme is the Top-up program. This academic year builds on the HNC and HND program and takes you to the bachelor’s level. At the Top-up you can choose (I) 1 year full-time study at a university abroad, or (II) 1.5 years further study at Kronenburgh and the University of Essex. Read more about our Top-up programme.
(I) Full-time Top-up at University abroad
Studying at a university abroad is an immensely valuable experience and will feature prominently on your CV for a lifetime.
With the Level 5 Higher National Diploma HND RQF you can access the Top-up program at many universities in the field of “Business and Management” or a similar field of study.
The specifications of the Top-up lecture program and the organization of education differ per university. Keep in mind that the admission requirements of these universities are subject to change. For example, additional or different requirements can be set every year for the level of English and the level achieved at HNC and HND, etc.
(II) Part-time Top-up at University of Essex | online
If you want to combine work and study the Top-up program is offered by the University of Essex is an interesting option.
The specifications of the Top-up lecture program and the organization of education differ per university. Keep in mind that the admission requirements of these universities are subject to change. For example, additional or different requirements can be set every year for the level of English and the level achieved at HNC and HND, etc.
(II) Top-up at the University of Essex
The academic level of the program is rising again. Students will now study the literature more independently and complete assignments: apply what you have learned in the first two years.
All students again participate in the same lecture program. Once again, the students work on an assignment per unit. Students also write an article for each unit. There are no more theory exams. Students are expected to actively participate in the online group discussions initiated by Essex. The students also write a personal learning report for each unit. The study counseling is provided by the University of Essex.
Pre-recorded lectures are also available in the online environment of the University of Essex, along with other lecture materials such as the readers. The online learning environment is managed by Kaplan Open Learning on behalf of the University of Essex.
With fewer hours of lectures, there is more time for the internship and the graduation assignment: the Advanced Business Project (an in-depth study). You can also graduate without an internship.
The University of Essex conducts final assessments of student work for all units and the graduation project. The University of Essex will eventually also provide the bachelor’s degree. The graduation ceremony is also at the University of Essex in the UK.
